Transient House One Jeep Ride to Wright Park, Mines View, and The Mansion

You don't need a tour van or a Grab. One jeep from Zonta Park, a 30-second walk from our gate, covers Wright Park, The Mansion, and Mines View, in that order of distance.

Transient House One Jeep Ride to Wright Park, Mines View, and The Mansion

Wright Park, The Mansion, and Mines View sit farther out than SM, Session Road, or Burnham Park, the kind of distance where a lot of transients start recommending a Grab or a private tour van. I'm Oliver Valencia, owner of VOS Valencia Baguio Transient House at 92 Valenzuela Street. From our gate, it's a 30-second walk to Zonta Park, where you catch one jeep that covers all three. This guide is the honest breakdown of that ride, what to expect at each stop, and when not to go.

The Jeep Ride, Honestly Broken Down

From VOS, walk out the gate and you're at Zonta Park in about 30 seconds. That's where you catch the jeep. Fare is 13 to 15 pesos per person.

In order of distance: Wright Park is the nearest, about a 7-minute ride. The Mansion is next, around 9 minutes. Mines View is the farthest of the three, 12 to 15 minutes. One jeep, one line, no transfers between them.

Pro Tip

If you're only doing one stop today, do Wright Park first since it's the shortest ride. Save Mines View for when you have more time to enjoy it slowly.

The Jeep Ride, Honestly Broken Down

Best Time to Go, and When Not To

Go between 9 AM and 4 PM. That's the window that works best for weather, crowds, and jeep availability.

Don't plan on going at night. Jeeps heading to and from these three spots get hard to catch once it's dark, and you don't want to be stuck figuring out a ride back from Mines View after sunset.

πŸ’‘

Pro Tip

Head out earlier in that window if you want Mines View before the crowds and the fog roll in. Later mornings tend to get hazier up there.

What to Actually Bring

One thing matters more than anything else: bring a jacket. All three spots are higher up and more exposed than the city center, and it's noticeably colder than a walk down Session Road.

Bring some cash too, small bills for the jeep fare and anything you want to buy at Mines View's souvenir stalls or Wright Park's horseback riding.

πŸ’‘

Pro Tip

Pack the jacket even if it looks sunny in the city center. The temperature at Mines View can feel very different from what you left at VOS.

Who This Trip Is Actually For

Most of the guests who do this loop are couples, often early in dating, since Wright Park's horseback riding and the classic Mines View photo spot are part of the standard Baguio dating circuit. Families come too, since these three spots are some of the most visited in the whole region.

My own personal favorite of the three is Mines View. The view up there is genuinely chill, the kind of spot where you just stand and take it in for a while.

πŸ’‘

Pro Tip

If you're planning a first Baguio trip together as a couple, Wright Park and Mines View in the same afternoon is a solid, low-effort date.

The Comparison Nobody Points Out

Some places really are closer to Wright Park or Mines View than we are. What they usually give up is everything else. A transient built around being near those three spots is often nowhere near SM, Session Road, or Burnham Park, so you're trading one kind of convenience for another.

At VOS, you get both. We're genuinely near SM, Session Road, and Burnham on foot, and one jeep from Zonta Park still gets you to Wright Park, The Mansion, and Mines View. You're not choosing between the walkable city center and the farther viewpoints. For the walkable side of the city, my Session Road guide and Burnham Park guide cover that half in full.

πŸ’‘

Pro Tip

Ask any host claiming to be near Wright Park or Mines View one follow-up question: how far is it from here to SM or Session Road? That answer tells you what you're actually trading off.

Jeep vs. Grab: My Honest Take

If you're budgeting your trip, the jeep is the better call. At 13 to 15 pesos a person, it's a fraction of what a Grab or a private tour van would cost for the same three stops, and it's genuinely my own preference too.

A private tour makes more sense if you're short on time and want to hit all three back to back without waiting for a jeep to fill up. For most guests staying a few days, the jeep is fine.

πŸ’‘

Pro Tip

If you're traveling with more than 3 or 4 people, price out a private tricycle for the day. At that group size, it can end up cheaper than everyone paying jeep fare separately for multiple rides.

Back at VOS After a Day Out

You'll come back a little tired and a little cold after a day at these three spots. Here's what's waiting: a hot shower, fresh blankets, a clean bed, and Netflix. That combination is exactly what you want after being out in the cooler air all afternoon.

Check-in is flexible if you want to head straight to Zonta Park before dropping your bags. Just let us know when you're arriving so we can work around it.

πŸ’‘

Pro Tip

If you're arriving early and your room isn't ready yet, drop your bags with us and head straight to the jeep. No need to wait around.

My Honest Recommendation
