Abanao Square is a shopping mall on the market side of Baguio, smaller than SM City Baguio or Center Mall. What makes it worth the walk isn't the mall itself so much as what surrounds it. The wet market is right beside it and the ukay-ukay stalls are directly in front. VOS Baguio Transient House at 92 Valenzuela Street is about 11 to 12 minutes away on foot, following the same route as Burnham Park and the public market: down Session Road, past the market, then straight on.

Why Stay at VOS Baguio Transient When Visiting Abanao Square

Worth being straight with you: SM City Baguio is 3 minutes from our door and it's the bigger mall, so if general shopping is what you're after, that's the easier trip. Abanao earns the walk for a different reason. It sits beside the wet market, which is where I buy my own fish, fruit, and vegetables, and the ukay-ukay stalls out front are where the genuinely cheap finds are. There's a food court inside Abanao too, and the wet market is good for cheap eats. Go early in the morning for the best stock. Bring cash and your own bag, and keep an eye on your money because the market gets crowded.
